🐾 Psychiatric Service Dogs: Real Help, Real Standards
Train Your Own Dog. Get Real Help. No Scams. No Fluff.
If you’re here, you probably already know what most "third party" scam websites don’t tell you:
you can’t just slap a vest on your pet and call it a service dog.
At Challenger Point Practice, we do things differently — because we actually care about the people who rely on these animals to function, survive, and recover.
✅ What Is a Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD)?
A PSD is not an Emotional Support Animal (ESA).
A PSD is trained to perform specific, disability-related tasks that help with mental health conditions like PTSD, severe anxiety, panic disorders, or depression.
These dogs are recognized under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and have legal public access rights — meaning they can fly with you, enter stores, and go anywhere a service animal is allowed.
🧠 Who Qualifies?
We work with:
-
Veterans
-
First responders
-
Survivors of trauma, PTSD, and panic disorders
-
People navigating serious mental health conditions that impact daily function
If you have a condition that limits your ability to function — and a dog can help by performing specific tasks — you may qualify for a PSD.
🐕 Can I Train My Own Dog?
Yes. And we’ll help you do it right.
At Challenger Point, we believe in making PSDs accessible — without $25,000 price tags or shady online “certification” mills.
Here’s how it works:
-
We evaluate your condition through a licensed clinical assessment
-
You train your own dog (or work with a local trainer — your choice)
-
We help identify and guide task training that fits your disability
-
Once your dog is task-trained and public-behavior-ready, we certify the dog with clinical documentation, observation, and a treatment plan.
✋ What This Is Not:
-
This is not a fake letter mill - we don't sell letters
-
This is not a registry scam - you register directly with a licensed provider
-
This is not a one-size-fits-all checkbox
This is real support, real clinical guidance, and a legitimate path forward for people who need it most.
🛠️ What We Provide:
-
Licensed PSD evaluations (insurance may cover it - including Veteran Affairs with prior authorization)
-
Written treatment plans documenting disability-related need
-
Task identification and support for self-training
-
Letter of medical necessity, if appropriate
-
Final clinical documentation upon observed public behavior and task execution
📌 ESA vs PSD — What’s the Difference?
Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) can live with you in no-pet housing but don’t have public access rights. They are not covered under the ADA for travel or entry into public spaces.
A Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD) is task-trained, disability-related, and protected under federal law.

🏠 Built for the Brave. Designed for the Broken. Training for the Comeback.
This practice is more than paperwork.
It’s a home for the ones who served, showed up, and suffered quietly.
We blend service dog support with trauma therapy because that’s what actually works.
You’ve finally found the real thing.
