SCURD Public Safety

Southern Continental Unified Response Division
“Every mission starts with a reset.”

Welcome to SCURD

SCURD is a fictional yet functional public safety department born out of necessity, grit, and a little dark humor. It serves as the unifying structure for real-world peer support, creative resilience training, and storytelling through film and comedy.

Founded by veterans of police, fire, EMS, and clinical trauma work, SCURD is the official agency name for all things CLIMB Protocol, Roll Call, and Undercover Dumpster Fire.

Two Fictional Stations, Two Real Resets

📍 Station 7600 – Colorado (7,600 ft elevation)
A mountain-based reset station located in the San Luis Valley. Built for nervous system decompression, long-haul trauma recovery, and wilderness-based resilience work.

📍 Station Zero – Florida Keys (0 ft elevation)
An ocean-based resilience hub at the edge of the continent. A place to surrender, float, breathe, and reset from burnout, grief, and operational fatigue.

Each station is part of a holistic model that includes:

  • Peer Specialist involvement

  • Licensed trauma therapists

  • Primary care physician and physical therapy input

  • Creative storytelling & film

  • A 12-month commitment to full-life recovery

What SCURD Represents
  • A model for how agencies can build internal peer support and trauma-informed leadership

  • A sandbox for developing SOPs, policies, and SOGs (Standard Operating Guidelines) that blend clinical insight with tactical culture

  • A satirical buffer to approach hard topics (suicide, PTSD, moral injury) through laughter, honesty, and creative disruption

  • A backbone for both our fictional Roll Call TV show and our real-world CLIMB Protocol

  • A cinematic shield protecting the raw stories of first responders, veterans, and trauma survivors while giving them space to share, reset, and rebuild

SCURD SOPs & Culture

We write SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and SOGs that are used in training, film, podcast content, and resilience coaching. These include:

  • Peer Support SOPs

  • Nervous System Reset Guidelines

  • Onboarding checklists for trauma recovery programs

  • Storytelling permission protocols

  • Clinical & creative boundaries for mixed media projects

Each SOP is written with clinical backing, first responder realism, and a dose of Dumpster Fire-style edge.

Who Runs SCURD?

SCURD is operated collaboratively through:

  • Challenger Point Practice (Licensed trauma care & adventure therapy)

  • 16 Cent Productions (Film, UGC, and creative direction)

  • Undercover Dumpster Fire (Podcast & nonprofit trauma advocacy)

We train and deploy peer specialists, some real, some fictional—but all with heart. You’ll find SCURD in podcasts, videos, workshops, and sometimes in your own agency’s reset day.
